Orchestra Victoria’s Education Workshops allow aspiring musicians to experience the thrill of performing alongside the professional musicians of Orchestra Victoria. Each workshop is an intensive two-day program of rehearsals for instrumental music students.

Conducted by a leading music education specialist, the workshops offer a unique and valuable learning opportunity for students. Around 12 of Orchestra Victoria’s top musicians play alongside students and lead smaller instrumental section tutorials. Students extend their ensemble playing and instrumental techniques in full orchestral rehearsals under the baton of a professional conductor.

The Education Workshops include professional learning opportunities for music educators and conductors of local school and community ensembles. These special sessions are led by the professional conductor and cover a range of topics tailored to the needs of the participants.

A concert showcasing the students’ work is presented to the community at the end of the second day. Students play alongside the professionals in this exciting performance!

These workshops are provided completely free of charge to all participants thanks to Art Victoria, Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation, William Angliss (Victoria) Charitable Fund, Collier Charitable Trust and generous support of private donors.
