Hot on the heels of a highly successful opera season with an unprecedented number of rave reviews, Orchestra Victoria is proud to announce The Hon. Mary Delahunty as Orchestra Victoria’s new chair.
The Orchestra Victoria Board unanimously elected the Hon. Mary Delahunty and sheimmediately commences as Orchestra Victoria chair, succeeding Mr Don Mercer who retires from his 9 year tenure.
The Hon. Mary Delahunty brings extensive experience in government, media and the not-for-profit sector to the role, having served more than seven years as a Victorian Government Minister, including the role of Minister for the Arts, and having established a prominent career in television news, current affairs and the arts.
The Hon. Mary Delahunty joined the Orchestra Victoria Board as a director in May 2007. Additionally, she also currently holds a director of several not-for-profit boards including Harold Mitchell Foundation, Health/Arts; Melbourne Recital Centre (Victorian Government); Elisabeth Murdoch Sculpture Foundation Advisory Board and, Centre for Advanced Journalism, Melbourne University.
