Community Program

Orchestra Victoria at Kernot Hall, Morwell

In addition to its commitment to the arts in Melbourne, Orchestra Victoria sought to share music with all Victorians. Since its inception in 2002, the Community Program has expanded and now presents free concerts and free mOVe! education workshops in metropolitan Melbourne and in Bendigo, Moe, Morwell, Shepparton, Horsham, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Mildura.

The Community Program is based on a unique model of community partnerships, and Orchestra Victoria works closely with the local councils and key community representatives to develop the concerts and workshops to meet the needs of the communities.

Orchestra Victoria’s Community Program has won industry awards from Equity Trustees, from the Australia Business Arts Foundation and has become a case study at RMIT Business School.

Since 2002 thousands of Victorians have enjoyed sharing music with Orchestra Victoria.
