About Justin
Justin Beere is Associate Principal Clarinet with Orchestra Victoria and an active presence in Australia’s orchestral and chamber music scenes. Known for his versatility and expressive musicianship, he has appeared with major ensembles including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and the Australian World Orchestra.
A dedicated advocate for Australian music, Justin is the founding Artistic Director of Melbourne Chamber Players and co-founder of the Continuo Commissioning Circle, a platform supporting new chamber works by Victorian composers. He has also had the privilege to premiere works by Brett Dean, Margaret Sutherland, Anne Cawrse, Nigel Sabin, Matthew Laing, and Paul Dean, among many others.
In the realm of chamber music, Justin has enjoyed collaborations with ensembles such as the Orava and Flinders Quartets, Arcadia Winds, Hindemith Wind Quintet, Melbourne Ensemble, Tailors Ensemble, and the Glenfern Trio. He has also appeared at major chamber music festivals including Port Fairy, Peninsula Summer, Bendigo, Melbourne, Warren, Music by the Springs, Now or Never, the Banff Summer Festival (Canada), and the Mackay Chamber Music Festival.
Justin studied at the Queensland Conservatorium, the University of Tasmania, and the Australian National Academy of Music. Alongside performing, he is an experienced educator and mentor, passionate about nurturing the next generation of Australian musicians.
