Indie Symphony
Indie Symphony celebrated beloved soundtracks from bestselling, independently developed, videogames. This was the first time that Australian game fans were able to hear these titles performed live by a full orchestra of 60 musicians with guest soloists, accompanied by visuals from the featured games.
Performed at Hamer Hall, the program featured music from Hollow Knight, Stray Gods, Hades, Celeste, Journey and more, with presenter Meena Shamaly, host of ABC Classic’s weekly Game Show program guiding the audience through this exhilarating live concert experience.

A truly one-of-a-kind performance that helped those in attendance experience the magic of indie video game music in a new way. It highlighted the amazing talent that can be found within the indie game music scene, in Oz and abroad, and left those who witnessed it excited to see what the future of live video game music performances will bring. If the sight of 3,500 filled seats (filled, anecdotally, by those much younger than the typical orchestra audience) did not indicate how deeply this music was loved, then the standing ovation at the end of the night would leave no-one in doubt. ...It was an evening of music created for video games.
