About John

Tutti Violinist and education advocate John Noble was born in Burton-Upon-Trent in England in 1969 and has been with Orchestra Victoria for 22 years. He is the founding Director of John Noble’s Quartet Program – a program that links regional students to professional musicians and performance opportunities. In the UK, he learnt from Eileen Hole, since arriving in Australia in 1982 learnt from the following Philip Carrington, Tom Fitzgerald, Brian Finlayson, Rob John and Nathan Gutman and he studied music at the University of Melbourne. He has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, and has played for 25 years in the Hermitage Trio – a Palm Court Ensemble. His favourite composers are Puccini, Rossini, Verdi and Wagner, and performing The Ring Cycle has been a career highlight to date.
