Sam Nock

A vibrant double bassist, Samuel Nock expresses his passion for music through his engaging performances on the concert stage and private teaching. He is on contract with Orchestra Victoria for 2026 and is in demand as a freelancing musician, performing with Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia of Melbourne and others. Samuel has completed a Master of Music in Orchestral Performance at the University of Melbourne, a program in collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, Samuel has had the opportunity to explore interesting styles and genres alongside traditional classical chamber music. He toured regional Queensland with indie-classical quintet Topology with their audio-visual work Queensland At Home; it combined original music composed by Topology’s double bassist Robert Davidson and archival footage of “Queenslanders engaging in everyday activities”. Samuel has enjoyed performing chamber ensemble arrangements of video game music by AWR Music through their internationally touring concert, A New World: Intimate Music from Final Fantasy."
