As one of Australia’s most beloved culinary icons, Maggie Beer’s cookbooks, television programs and produce have brought joy to millions of across the country.
A constant in her life, Maggie takes every opportunity to experience the joy music brings. An opera lover, regular concertgoer and member of a choir, Maggie’s love for music has influenced her greatly.
At the Ulumbarra Theatre for one night only, Orchestra Victoria and Maggie Beer will present music handpicked by Maggie for the significance they play in her life. Maggie will be joined in conversation with presenter Greta Bradman to share the stories behind their selection.
Conducted by Carlo Antonioli and featuring Soprano Nina Korbe and Mezzo-Soprano Syrah Torii, the program includes beloved works such as Delibes Flower Duet from Lakme, Gershwin’s Summertime from Porgy and Bess, and Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavelleria Rusticana.
This program was developed in a studio managed by the City of Melbourne’s Meat Market tenancy program.
