Acknowlegement

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we perform, and on which we rehearsed tonight's performance, the people of the Kulin Nations: the Dja Dja Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to all First Nations people across Australia, whose traditions of music making and storytelling have continued on this land for millenia.

Welcome to Maggie Beer: Music & Me

Jacinta Ewers, Chief Executive Officer

On behalf of Orchestra Victoria, it’s my great pleasure to welcome you to Maggie Beer: Music and Me here in beautiful Bendigo.

It’s a joy to be here sharing this special concert with you. Touring to regional communities like Bendigo is at the heart of what we do — bringing live music experiences to audiences across Victoria, something that we find great joy in and a responsibility we hold with pride. These tours allow us to connect with communities, share the magic of orchestral music, and celebrate the creativity and talent that thrives throughout our state.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of our partners and funders. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Creative Australia, Creative Victoria, the Touring Victoria program, and the City of Greater Bendigo. Your commitment to the arts and regional engagement plays a vital role in making performances like this a reality.

We also acknowledge the wonderful Maggie Beer — whose passion for food, music, and community has inspired this unique and heartfelt program.

Thank you for joining us tonight. We hope this concert uplifts and inspires you, enjoy the performance!

Jessica Gethin, Artistic Advisor

Welcome to this very special evening with Orchestra Victoria, where we celebrate two of life's greatest joys— music and food — in perfect harmony.

Tonight, under the baton of the brilliant Carlo Antonioli, we are delighted to be joined in conversation with the incomparable Maggie Beer, whose culinary artistry mirrors the passion of our musicians. Just as a fine dish balances flavour, texture, and aroma, a great performance balances tone, tempo, and emotion.

We invite you to savour every note as we share this concert experience with Maggie.
